設計動機

每年有800萬公噸垃圾進入海洋。這些垃圾足以覆蓋全世界的每一吋海岸線,然而91%的垃圾未進入回收系統。絕大部分的海廢無法分解,將繼續存在數百年甚至數千年以上,因此我們決定蒐集這些無法被回收的海洋垃圾,再製成回饋給海洋的非機械式產品,所以我們利用不可進行回收的廢棄漁網及發泡材取代傳統衝浪板的材料。

Eight million metric tons of waste enter the ocean every year. That's enough to cover every inch of coastline around the world. However, 91% of the waste does not enter the recycling system. The vast majority of marine wastes can not be decomposed and will continue to exist for hundreds or even thousands of years. We decided to collect the garbage that can't be recycled, and then make it into non mechanical products to feed back to the ocean. We use non recyclable waste fishing nets and foamed materials to replace traditional surfboard materials

設計理念

蒐集無法被回收的海廢垃圾,在製成回饋海洋的非機械式產品。收集汪洋大海上的漂浮垃圾,其中廢棄漁網即台灣沿海發泡材為我們的主力回收重點,利用發泡材可飄浮不易腐爛的特性取代浪板中的保麗龍,漁網則可結合環氧樹酯製成堅固的外殼。

Collect the sea waste that can't be recycled, and then make it into non mechanical products. Collecting floating garbage in the vast ocean, including waste fishing nets, that is, foaming materials along the coast of Taiwan, is our main recycling focus. Using the floating and non perishable properties of foamed material to replace the styrofoam in wave board. Fishing nets can be combined with epoxy resin to make a strong shell.

設計目標

 

我們希望無法被回收利用的海洋廢棄物除了以對地球有害的方式(焚燒或掩埋)外,能夠再製成新的產品回歸於愛護海洋的人們使用。未來也希望設計一套完整的材料循環系統。重複利用海洋廢物製造新的循環是我們持續努力的目標。

 

We hope that the marine wastes that can not be recycled can be made into new products in addition to being burned or buried in a way harmful to the earth, and can be used by people who love the ocean. We also hope to design a complete material circulation system in the future. Recycling marine waste to create a new cycle is the goal of our continuous efforts.
