Grape vines are a kind of agricultural waste. Grapes are harvested twice a year, leaving a large number of useless vines. Just the Changhua Village inTaiwan has nearly 250 metric tons, and 95% of vines are treated by openburning. In recent years, the requirements for air pollution control have become more and more stringent. Therefore, the problem of agricultural waste from grapevines must be solved by an innovative product design.

“KARIBURN”It means a combination of BIOCHAR x BURN x REBORN.

Its shape resembles vines, and the side structure resembles the image of vines climbing upwards and clustering on the top.Its colors are yellow and gray. This color combination is bright, cheerful, firm and reliable, symbolizing that it brings warmth and stability to the community.

Quoting from concept of“Cradle to Cradle”promoted by the professor Michael Braungart and the architect William Mcdonough ,learning from nature, everything is nourishment and can be returned to nature. Therefore, we designed a biochar stove named “KARIBURN” and an innovative circular economy model, which can be more environmentally friendly and can take into account economic development. So as to truly achieve a win-win situation for farmers, communities, and stove manufacturers.
